Christine Hanson (formerly Baigent) Private Client Services, Asset & Wealth Protection Christine has lived and worked in Hampshire and Surrey for over 25 years and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and a Professional Deputy. She initially trained with Metcalfe Solicitors in Bordon, Hampshire moving to become Head of Private Client at Tanner & Taylor in Farnham, Surrey. This essentially covers Wills, Probate, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work, all of which can be relevant to just about everyone regardless of their age or their circumstances. People do have different needs. For example, if you are reading this as a young parent, you may be juggling work with numerous other demands on your time and so Christine is always happy to arrange appointments in the evening or she does home visits if it’s easier for you. Or perhaps you, or someone you know is elderly. Then your main concern may be that the whole experience of visiting a firm of solicitors can be daunting and quite possibly, if mobility is an issue, akin to planning a polar expedition. In those circumstances, Christine is happy to come to you – a cup of tea and a chat is usually all it takes to establish a relaxed atmosphere and get the job done. Christine’s prime focus is always to make sure that the advice she gives is completely understood and that any actions taken properly reflect your intentions and protect your best interests. She is genuinely interested in each and every one of her clients and loves getting to know them and hearing all their stories. Christine Hows Solicitor, Specialising in Employment Law Christine qualified in 1999 after deciding on a change in career direction, having previously worked in London Local Government Democratic services for 10 years. During her first few years in private practice she had the opportunity to undertake a wide range of Employment Law work, for individuals & employers. She worked as a Partner in two firms, prior to moving in-house at a large London University where she was involved in a range of employment law and HR issues for over 6 years. During that time, Christine also trained as a Mediator and help to set up an in-house mediation service to provide workplace mediation. Whilst mediation and litigation are quite different in their approach to conflict resolution, a solid knowledge of both skill sets has proved a significant advantage in progressing matters that appear to have reached an impasse. Christine has acted for clients in Employment Tribunals, County Courts and the High Court. However, she is equally familiar with drafting contracts, policies and procedures or just offering pragmatic advice on the every day issues that clients face. Christine is delighted to be back in private practice again with Couchman Hanson who are 100% client focused in a way that many other law firms often aren’t. She is pleased to have an opportunity to work alongside like-minded people and be part of a positive & practical legal and professional service team. Qualifications: Comparative Goverment BA (Hons), Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Administration, Common Professional Law Exam (CPE), Legal Practice Course (LPC), Accredited Interpersonal Mediator
