Solicitor, specialising in Employment Law
Christine qualified in 1999 after deciding on a change in career direction, having previously worked in London Local Government Democratic services for 10 years.
During her first few years in private practice she had the opportunity to undertake a wide range of Employment Law work, for individuals & employers. She worked as a Partner in two firms, prior to moving in-house at a large London University where she was involved in a range of employment law and HR issues for over 6 years.
During that time, Christine also trained as a Mediator and help to set up an in-house mediation service to provide workplace mediation. Whilst mediation and litigation are quite different in their approach to conflict resolution, a solid knowledge of both skill sets has proved a significant advantage in progressing matters that appear to have reached an impasse.
Christine has acted for clients in Employment Tribunals, County Courts and the High Court. However, she is equally familiar with drafting contracts, policies and procedures or just offering pragmatic advice on the every day issues that clients face.
Christine is delighted to be back in private practice again with Couchman Hanson who are 100% client focused in a way that many other law firms often aren’t. She is pleased to have an opportunity to work alongside like-minded people and be part of a positive & practical legal and professional service team.
