Wills

wills solicitors in liphookA Short Guide to Wills

Freddie Mercury once asked ‘Who wants to live forever?’ The honest answer is – we all do – so much so that we are extraordinarily reluctant to give any form of consideration to life without us in it. Survey after survey shows that only one in four adults in Great Britain ever writes a Will despite the fact that the vast majority of us care vehemently what happens to our property after we die. The assumptions that ‘Everything will go to my wife anyway ‘ or ‘My family knows what I would wish – they’ll carry out my wishes’ are sadly misplaced. A Will is the only way of making your wishes known when you die and ensuring that those wishes are carried out. Without a Will the State directs who inherits property, so your friends, favourite charities or even particularly loved relatives may get nothing.

At Couchman Hanson we will talk you through the procedure and discuss with you what options are available to ensure that your Will not only reflects your intentions but also protects your assets where necessary.

We can prepare Wills on a fixed fee basis – please see below for further information.

Remember we understand that clients often work full time and need to take advice outside office hours so we can arrange evening appointments. We also know that many clients find it difficult to come to us – so we can come to you.
